Grace Kelly and her wedding flowers interpretation
Wedding bouquet of blush pink roses
So proud of my florists – Kavelle Flowers featured in all the photo shoots of wedding gowns and wedding bouquets in the latest editiaion of Cosmopolitan Brides.
the theme for the shoot was elegant vintage and I think the girls excelled creating amazing elegant wedding bouquets.
Just received a big thank you from last week’s wedding – it was a lavendar flower themed garden wedding – the bride’s little sister organised her wedding flowers everything and we had great fun planning the event – there are such lovely lavendar coloured flowers around.
I particularly love the floral head piece that we did for the bride and flower girl – used ranunculas, roses, lavendar and dodda vine. We all loved it!

Yesterday we received some lovely compliments from one of our brides, Narelle, about her wedding flowers by Kavelle Flowers.
Here is what she said about her wedding flowers by Kavelle Flowers:
Dear Parthenie and Tania,
I have FINALLY got around to putting together some photo’s from my wedding in July. Ian and I had just such a lovely time, it was a wonderful day, and the flowers were just so beautiful. Perfect. They were exactly as I was hoping – or even better, especially my bouquet, I was totally in love with it!
Thank you so much Parthenie, for coming up with something that was just that little bit different.. and still so beautiful. You really are an artist! 🙂
We have just finished a wedding shoot with Cosmpolitan Bride. It was such an exciting day. Four of our florists attended the shoot and made up the bouquets as the models got dressed.
The photos will be published in the summer edition of Cosmpolitan Bride – can’t wait to see them – and to share some behind the scenes photos.
This is one of my favourite floral arrangements that we did at the Sydney Hilton. It featured a mixture of orchids – green singapore orchids with pale cimbidiums.
This martini style floral arrangement would also be a funky wedding table arrangement.
One of our favourite brides, Mellissah, was recently wed to her beau, Jonathan at Paddington’s beautiful old church, St Matthias Anglican Church. (Cnr Oxford & Moore Park Rd).
The bride chose elegant cream vendela roses for her bouquet – these are a traditional wedding rose and never fail to impress,
Their reception was held at Centennial parklands.
Kavelle Flowers created the floral theme for the wedding party and reception and the brilliant Israel Smith and his team took the wonderful photos.
Here are some of the special moments of Mellissah & Jonathan’s day photographed by Israel Smith.
Nikki, our junior florist from Thailand, came third in the Interflora TAFE cup today.
Nikki first came to our studio two years ago and begged me for an opportunity to work and learn in our studio.
I am unbelievably proud of her as she has worked really hard to learn all there is about floristry – and her wiring is second to none.
Great stuff Nikki.
Melissa also competed and, although she didn’t win a place, I still think she is a winner to have had the courage to compete – it was her first competition and she was competing against students many years her senior.
Nikki and Melissa, two of my assistant florists, are competing in the Interflora TAFE cup competition.
Nikki is currently studying floristry at Pearsons School of Floristry while Melissa is studying at Ultimo TAFE and being mentored by the leading floral designer Christina Lewis, Head of the Ultimo TAFE School of Floristry.
I have told both girls just to enjoy the day as it is a great opportunity to meet other members of the floral community and to broaden their floristry schools.
oh, and they actually have a hard act to follow – Sarah won the TAFE Cup last year and Parthenie won the Flower Growers Competition.
Spent a great day at the Sydney Gift Fair at Darling Harbour yesterday.
This is where I source all my wonderful vases. As all my customers know, I have the one of the best range of vases in Sydney – all shapes and sizes and colours. In fact I actually think I have the largest collection as vases are my passion and I cannot resist buying anything new I see.
As you can imagine at my home in Coogee, I always have fresh flowers. But what gives me the greatest pleasure is just one or two blooms in a bud vase.
One of my favourites is this hand blown glass vase from Denmark.
