Flannel flower are a popular wildflower that are common in the sandstone country around Sydney and to the north.
The leaves are silver-grey and velvety in texture, giving rise to the common name. The flowers are white and consist of 10 velvety, “petal-like” bracts, so that the flowers have a daisy-like appearance.
There are several flowers per branch.
Flannel Flowers are harvested from the bush but these days more are now grown in plantations. Most are grown in NSW and QLD.
