This beautiful bouquet of spring flowers includes daffodils, tulips, stock and iris
These pomanders (or flower balls) are a great way to decorate an outdoor wedding. We made these particular one for a Cosmo Bride Wedding shoot.
Small pomanders (or kissing balls!) were carried Kate and William’s flowergirls
We are all really excited – have three photoshoots in the next week – two with Cosmo Bride and one with OK Magazine for a wedding special they have in the next few weeks – keep your eyes out.
The shoots will feature roses in every hue of pink, purple and ivory.
Love doing the photoshoots as it gives us all a chance to show our floristry skills and it is also a great day at the shoot.
This photo is one of my favourites taken at a photoshoot published in the latest edition of Cosmopolitan Bride.
The team at Kavelle Flowers installed the Christmas decorations at the Hilton Sydney this weekend.
The lobby Christmas tree is over 6 metres tall (3 times my height). We decorated it with Christmas lights and silver and red baubles. It looks spectacular. If you live or are visiting Sydney, you should visit the Hilton just to have a look.
Yet another great effort by the Kavelle Flowers team.
This is one of my favourite floral arrangements that we did at the Sydney Hilton. It featured a mixture of orchids – green singapore orchids with pale cimbidiums.
This martini style floral arrangement would also be a funky wedding table arrangement.
Spent a great day at the Sydney Gift Fair at Darling Harbour yesterday.
This is where I source all my wonderful vases. As all my customers know, I have the one of the best range of vases in Sydney – all shapes and sizes and colours. In fact I actually think I have the largest collection as vases are my passion and I cannot resist buying anything new I see.
As you can imagine at my home in Coogee, I always have fresh flowers. But what gives me the greatest pleasure is just one or two blooms in a bud vase.
One of my favourites is this hand blown glass vase from Denmark.
I am often asked what is the best way to keep flowers fresh.
The secret to keeping flowers fresh is keeping the water clean. This is done by making sure there are no leaves below the water line, the water is changed daily and the flowers are trimmed.
Nothing more is needed.
If I am wanting to take a little extra care I might add a few drops of bleach.
However, there is really nothing more to do. All of the additives that are available are simply alternative ways of keeping the water clean. And the best way is to change the water!!
This handy hint is sent to you by Tania Waterhouse of Kavelle Flowers. We can be found at 99 Coogee Bay Road, Coogee. We service all surrounding suburbs including Randwick, Maroubra, Bondi and Kensington.
And our closest neighbour is Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick
We are the proud florists for the Sydney Hilton and celebrity chef Luke Mangan’s Glass Restaurant.
We change the theme each week and all of our floral designs for a particular week complement each other.
This is our latest floral design. The theme was tropical in purple and green. It was created by Parthenie – I never cease to be amazed and delighted by her wonderful floral work.
oh and Luke loved it as well, as he does all of our designs!!
